Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Desert Place Rentals collects when you use the platform, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Renters don't need an account to use Desert Place Rentals, so most of what we collect comes directly from the forms you fill out:

• Booking inquiries: name, email, phone number (if provided), event date and details, and any message you send us when inquiring about a listing.
• Property inquiries: name, email, phone number, and property details submitted by owners interested in listing with us.
• Contact form submissions: name, email, and message for any general inquiry sent through the site.
• Payment information: processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe, once a booking is confirmed. We receive confirmation that a charge or payout occurred, not full card or bank account numbers.
• Team account information: our own staff accounts used to manage listings and inquiries carry a name, email, and optional profile photo.
• Usage information: pages viewed and similar activity, collected automatically to keep the platform working and to improve it.

2. How we use it

• To follow up on booking and property inquiries, and to manage listings.
• To process payments and payouts through Stripe, and to calculate revenue share with property partners.
• To respond to inquiries and general contact form submissions.
• To keep the platform safe — detecting fraud, abuse, and Terms violations.
• To improve search, ranking, and the overall product.

3. Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary information with the following categories of service providers, and don't sell personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes:

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage.
• Stripe — processes payments and property partner payouts under its own privacy policy.
• Mapbox — renders the map shown on listing pages, when configured.
• A listing's exact address is only shared with a Renter once their booking is confirmed.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep our own team signed in to manage the platform. We don't currently use third-party advertising cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.

5. Data retention

We keep inquiry, listing, and booking records for a reasonable period to meet legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations. You can request deletion of your information as described below.

6. Your rights

To request a copy or deletion of the information you've submitted to us, contact us via our contact page — we'll respond within 30 days. Deleting your information doesn't remove records we're required to keep for legal or tax purposes, such as completed booking and payment history.

7. Children's privacy

Desert Place Rentals is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
